Some of the no solder setups you might be able to return with just a restocking fee. You could also look into the company’s return policy. You could try buying them used so if you don’t like them you could resell and not lose money. It’s kinda a shot in the dark if you are gonna like it or not. Videos can be misleading because it’s not your bass and pickups plus what ever they do to the recording. Some have a variable mid feq on a stacked knob. You could find a preamp from a couple companies that the feq are the same but the boost/cut amount and curve are different. Some are designed to add some color/tone to the sound, others are just boosting/cutting at preset feq.
